Here at Deanta Wood we are very particular when it comes to choosing our timber. We work with international lumber merchants to source wood with the best grain, structural integrity and durability to ensure that our doors will look as good in twenty years as they do the day they left our workshop.

American Black Walnut - Juglans nigra

Walnut has been a much-prized wood used in the manufacture of fine furniture for centuries. Highly refined in appearance, it is often described as a deep chocolate version of another fine hardwood - Cherry. The dark and very rich brown-to black tones of Walnut combine with a characteristic soft flowing grain, making it a choice for the true connoisseur.

Specially selected Hungarian White Oak - Quercus robur

Oak Doors are Ireland's favourite door and this specially selected hungarian oak has a beautiful finsh. The grain pattern is spectacular. As the door ages, the initial light brown tones mellow into a darker more mature colour and the structure of the wood stands proudly for all to see. Timeless, formal and decadent. A lack of knots and marks combine to create a clean, more formal look in a dense wood that is less likely to mark.

North American Cherry - Prunus serotina

Our cherry comes from Wild Black Cherry trees, found only in the Allegheny forest on the eastern seaboard of the United States. A highly prized wood for centuries, cherry is famous for its wonderful deep rich red colour - a colour unique to the Allegheny region. Cherry wood speaks of opulence and splendour and when installed as a door, will give a warm rich glow to your home.

Beech - Fagus sylvatica

A native European tree, beech has been used for centuries for furtinture, flooring and doors. Our beech, which we source from the forests of Northern Russia is particularly sought after, the cold winters leading to a beautiful tight grain that lends the door a fantastic patina and appearance.

Scandanavian Ash - Fraxinus excelsior

This species has a strong golden grain structure similar to oak. Its gentle graining, greatly adds to the appeal of this wood. A popular and very versatile choice, this gracious wood is one of nature’s wonders, and will add immense charm to any room you choose.

Sapelli Mahogany - Entandrophragma cylindricum

Our sapelli mahogany is a rich dark red/brown colour. To many of our clients, our Sapelli Mahogany captures all aspects of the mahogany family, whist to us ensuring that it conforms to all aspects of our stringent sustainability requirements. Our hardest wood, it is perfect for those wanting to achieve that traditional style of grandeur and opulence.
